Individual Support

The Carringbush Referral and Support Service provides incidental and short-term individualised support to community members living in City of Yarra who are of CALD backgrounds and/or with low levels of English language and literacy.

Staff and skilled volunteers assess each person’s needs to provide support in-house, or make referrals to appropriate services on or near the estate. Services and support include:

  • Citizenship support

  • Family issues

  • Form filling

  • Further education

  • Health referrals

  • Job interview preparation

  • Legal referrals

  • Resume building

Reconnect Program – This program assists participants to overcome the barriers preventing them from engaging in education, training and employment and provides support into further study or employment pathways. This is a long-term, individualised mentoring and wrap-around support program developed and funded by the Department of Education Training,

 

Referral and Support Service – This service provides direct assistance (e.g. form filling), advocacy and referrals to appropriate services and programs to public and community housing residents in the City of Yarra. This service can be accessed by appointment in person, on Zoom or by phone.

 

Pathways Guidance Program – This program provides ongoing careers counselling and further education and employment preparation support to CALD adults with English language and literacy needs. Program participants can receive incidental support (e.g. resume development, job application support) and ongoing support (e.g. job searching skills development, improving job interview skills).
