Carringbush delivers accredited early childhood and English language courses.
Early childhood: The CHC30121 Early childhood education and care course is delivered free from tuition fees. A resources fee of $120.00 is payable.
English courses: The English language courses are available through:
Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) funded by Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs
Skills First Program funded by Victorian Department of Education and Training
Classes range from pre-Certificate I to Certificate III and are delivered from a number of locations around Richmond and Collingwood, as well as delivered partially online using accessible platforms.
Learners may be eligible to receive further support to participate online.
Course information:
The successful completion of this course will give you an early childhood educator qualification required to work in a regulated children’s education and care setting supporting children’s wellbeing and development. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
Students will undertake work placement in an early childhood centre during their training, where they can use their skills that they are learning in class on the job, as well as gain further skills in the workplace. Carringbush will assist students in gaining work placement.

Course information:
The course is for pre-literate learners including those arriving from conflict zones and refugee camps who have experienced different levels of trauma with severely interrupted education and little or no previous education or learning experiences. Learners develop an identity as they establish learning routines and develop basic decoding and encoding skills and handwriting skills such as copying and hand-eye coordination.

Course information:
The course is for participants who have little prior educational experience or whose circumstances have resulted in disrupted education and who need to develop initial level basic English speaking, listening, reading and writing, numeracy and learning skills prior to accessing further English language education and possible employment.

The course focuses on the development of English language speaking, listening, reading and writing skills directly related to immediate personal and social needs together with electives selected to develop relevant social, settlement and numeracy skills and knowledge. This course focuses on the consolidation of English language speaking, listening, reading and writing skills so that participants can access a range of further and vocational education options which may require some specialisation. Participants include those who have been out of the workforce for a period and wish to further develop English language skills and research pathway options or seek employment.

Carringbush delivers a number of pre-accredited Learn Local programs which develop students’ language, literacy skills and enhance their understanding of pathways to employment in Australia.
2023 courses:
Help with adults who want to improve their reading, writing, spelling and digital literacy skills. Content is individualized and can range from basic skills, up to the level needed for work or a course of study.
Programs are delivered at our site in Richmond and at community agencies in Collingwood.
